Western New York’s oldest building celebrates a special anniversary as we look back to the circumstance surrounding its construction.

The 1901 destruction of Buffalo’s North Street Cemetery produced one of the largest scandals in the city’s history.

Founded in 1859 by three German churches, Concordia Cemetery has served the changing East Side community ever since.  Today, the stories of its “residents” continue to be preserved through a variety of efforts and events.

Three centuries ago, French traders established this small, but important site in what is now Lewiston.
